Richard Knutson is a senior managing director with Newmark Knight Frank’s Emeryville office, serving professional and institutional apartment investors in the San Francisco Bay Area. Mr. Knutson has successfully closed a broad array of transactions, including over 200 sales involving over 14,000 multihousing units and transaction volume in excess of $1.7 billion. Mr. Knutson was previously with Newmark Cornish & Carey’s multihousing division for six years.

Prior to joining Newmark Cornish & Carey, Mr. Knutson co-founded Premier Apartment Advisors, formerly the East Bay office of Moison Investment Company. Mr. Knutson began his real estate career with the Oakland office of Coldwell Banker Commercial as an apartment investment specialist in 1982, where he earned the Top Rookie and Top Five Producer honors during his 15 year tenure.

Mr. Knutson earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Southern Methodist University, Dallas, Texas where his concentrations of study were real estate and finance. He received the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation in 1987 and is a licensed California real estate broker.
